Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista/Coffee Shop Assistant to join our vibrant team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, preparing high-quality beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about coffee and food service, looking to develop their skills within a dynamic setting.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, pastries, and light snacks in accordance with food safety standards.
Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, providing friendly and attentive service.
Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including cleaning equipment and surfaces regularly.
Manage stock levels, restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts.
Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system and provide correct change.
Uphold food safety regulations at all times, ensuring hygiene standards are met or exceeded.
Assist with organising the shop environment to create an inviting atmosphere for customers.
Support team members during busy periods to ensure prompt service is maintained.

Experience

Previous experience as a coffee barista a least 1 or 2 year of experience making coffees.
Knowledge of food safety regulations is advantageous.
Experience in serving customers with professionalism and courtesy is preferred.
Basic maths skills are necessary for handling transactions accurately.
15-20 hours for week.

Strong organisational skills with good time management are essential to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods.
