Chef de Partie / Junior Sous Chef – St Mary's Gate, Arundel
St Mary's Gate is a busy, food-led pub and restaurant in the heart of historic Arundel. Known for quality seasonal food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere, we are looking for a passionate and motivated Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef to join our enthusiastic kitchen team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a chef who takes pride in their work, enjoys working with fresh ingredients, and wants to develop their career within a professional and supportive environment.
Work-life balance is important to us, with chefs typically working a 4-day week.
Duties Include:
- Preparing, cooking and presenting high-quality dishes
- Assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chefs with menu development and daily specials
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen organisation
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the kitchen team
- Ensuring consistency and quality across all sections
- Permanent, full-time position averaging 45 hours per week
- Flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends
Your Skills Will Include:
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy kitchen
- A willingness to learn and develop professionally
- Genuine passion for food and hospitality
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards
- Consistent, professional and reliable approach to work
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Commis Chef looking to progress would be advantageous
