Air Conditioning Service & Maintenance Engineer

Full-time | £40,000–£50,000 basic salary, depending on experience
SFE Services is an award-winning, family-run air conditioning and ventilation specialist based in High Wycombe. We deliver everything from domestic split systems to complex commercial VRF/VRV, ventilation and cooling projects.
We are looking for an experienced, capable Service & Maintenance Engineer to join our growing team. This is a proper hands-on role for someone who takes pride in fault finding, getting systems back up and running, looking after clients and being part of a team that pulls together.
We work hard, play hard and look after our own. In return, we need someone reliable, professional and prepared to get stuck in.
The role
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance, servicing, repairs and breakdown work.
- Diagnose and rectify faults on split, multi-split, VRF/VRV, AHU, ventilation and associated HVAC equipment.
- Complete service reports, remedial recommendations and job paperwork accurately and promptly.
- Liaise professionally with clients, site contacts, suppliers and the SFE office team.
- Support and guide junior engineers where required.
- Ensure all works are completed safely and in line with company procedures and relevant legislation.
- Work predominantly across Buckinghamshire, the South East and London, with occasional nationwide work and stay-away travel.
What we need from you
- Minimum five years’ (post qualification) proven experience in air conditioning service, maintenance and fault finding.
- Relevant NVQ qualification is essential — F-Gas certification alone will not be considered.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability across a range of air conditioning systems.
- Confident working independently as well as part of a busy team.
- Good customer manners and clear communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- CSCS card preferred; IPAF and PASMA are advantageous.
- Must be based in the UK and have the legal right to work here.
- Within a commutable distance of High Wycombe.
