Swallows Meadow Court Nursing Home is a not for profit purpose built 70 bed Nursing home in Shirley Solihull. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Nurse to join our leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse who is passionate about delivering outstanding, person-centred care and leading clinical teams to achieve the highest standards of quality and safety. Recent Nursing Home experience is essential.
Based on one of our 4 units, you will be working closely with the Deputy Manager and Registered Home Manager. You will play a key role in the day-to-day clinical management of the home alongside senior nurses from the other units., overseeing the care and nursing team on a day to day basis ensuring our residents are able to live with dignity as independently as possible.
What you’ll be doing
As Senior Nurse, you will:
- Provide visible clinical leadership to nurses, senior carers, and care staff
- Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, compassionate, and responsive care
- Oversee assessments, care planning, risk management, and clinical reviews
- Support staff through supervision, mentoring, competency assessments, and performance management
- Lead on medication safety, infection prevention and control, and safeguarding practice
- Participate in audits, investigations, and quality improvement initiatives
- Be part of the on call rota for emergencies
- Contribute to positive CQC outcomes and regulatory compliance
- Build strong relationships with residents, families, GPs, community teams, and other healthcare professionals
What we’re looking for
Essential
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
- Significant post-registration nursing experience
- Experience leading and supervising nursing and care teams
- Experience working in a nursing home setting.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational abilities
- Commitment to high-quality, person-centred care
Desirable
- Teaching, mentoring, or leadership qualification
- Experience with clinical audits and quality improvement
