Operating from our sites in Duns and Berwick-upon-Tweed, we are seeking a reliable and skilled 360 Excavator Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating excavating equipment safely and efficiently on a range of agricultural and industrial projects.
The ability to operate a 360 excavator, dumper, rollers and other plant equipment is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate 360 excavators and other plant machinery safely and efficiently.
- Carry out earthmoving, excavation, grading and ground preparation works.
- Dig trenches, foundations and undertake general excavation tasks.
- Install drainage systems and prepare sites for concrete works.
- Load and unload materials and equipment.
- Demolish existing structures where required.
- Set up and prepare sites for excavation works.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, technical plans and specifications.
- Carry out pre-operational inspections and daily maintenance checks on machinery.
- Ensure excavators and equipment are maintained in good working order.
- Use laser levels accurately to complete works to specification.
- Identify and resolve operational issues as they arise.
- Work closely with colleagues and other site personnel to coordinate projects.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company procedures at all times.
- Participate in regular training and professional development to stay up to date with the latest techniques and equipment.
- Assist with general labouring duties when required.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience operating 360 excavators, dumpers, rollers and other plant machinery.
- Experience in earthworks, grading, drainage installation and concrete preparation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and construction plans.
- Experience using laser levels.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Reliable with excellent timekeeping.
- Willingness to assist with manual labour when required.
