Part-Time Finance Manager
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Finance Manager to support our growing group of businesseses, including a logistics and fulfilment operation, freight company and SaaS software business.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with business owners and taking ownership of day-to-day finance activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing compliance requirements and providing clear financial reporting to support business decisions.
The role is office-based for one day per week, with flexibility around working hours.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate accounting records using Xero
- Complete weekly bank reconciliations across multiple businesses
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Manage accounts payable and supplier payments
- Monitor accounts receivable and assist with credit control
- Prepare monthly management reports
- Maintain and update cashflow forecasts
- Assist with budgeting and financial planning
- Monitor financial performance and identify areas for improvement
- Liaise with external accountants where required
- Ensure Companies House and statutory filing requirements are maintained
- Support directors with ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Senior Bookkeeper or similar role
- Strong working knowledge of Xero
- Experience preparing VAT returns
- Excellent bank reconciliation and bookkeeping skills
- Experience producing management accounts and cashflow forecasts
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of financial processes
- Excellent communication skills
Hours & Pay
- Approximately 8 hours per week
- Office-based in Langham, Colchester
- Flexible working arrangements available
Pay: £15.00-£25.00 per hour
