As a part time Family Time Supervisor, you’ll play a crucial role in facilitating safe and supportive family time between children and their non-resident parents or significant others. You’ll oversee these sessions ensuring that the environment remains positive and safe for the children. The children may be living with one parent, a relative or in a foster placement.
Candidates must be prepared to work in both our Hassocks and Haywards Heath Child Contact Centres as well as the Sussex community. Travel time and mileage is paid for community work but to when working in our centres.
Family Time Supervisor (also known as Child Contact Supervision)
Summary of Role
- Helping facilitate child contact sessions within Public and Private Law arenas in the local community.
- Regular liaison with families, legal and childcare professionals.
- Writing good quality contact reports after sessions.
- Undertaking child transport to and from sessions, when required.
You must have previous experience working with families and children.
This is an employed role under a zero hour contract and we cannot guarantee minimum weekly hours as the role is demand driven by Local Authority and family needs. However, for each family their contacts tend to take place on a regular basis eg 2-3 hrs once a week, over many months.
Owning a car owner is essential, as well as a computer with MS word for report writing.
Salary: £14.00-£16.00 per hour based on day of week worked.
Previous work with families is essential and an Enhanced DBS is needed for this role, if you do not have one you would need to pay for one if successful.
Full training is given including Family Support and Child Contact Supervision, Report Writing and Safeguarding.
