Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled 1st / 2nd Fix Carpenter with DBS clearance to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing various stages of building and installation projects, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of residential, commercial, or industrial developments, supporting the overall progress of our construction initiatives. Responsibilities
- Perform 1st and 2nd fix carpentry tasks, including framing, door and window fitting, skirting, architraves, and cabinetry installation
- Use hand tools and power tools efficiently to carry out fabrication, assembly, and fitting work with precision
- Assist with roofing tasks, including fixing battens, tiles, or slates as required for project scope
- Conduct heavy lifting safely to move materials such as timber, drywall, or fixtures around the site
- Support plumbing and electrical teams by preparing spaces for installations and completing minor tasks under supervision
- Carry out masonry work such as bricklaying or blockwork when needed for structural or aesthetic purposes
- Participate in construction painting and finishing activities to ensure surfaces are prepared and completed to specification
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently, including maintaining a clean work environment and wearing appropriate PPE at all times
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality
Requirements
- Proven experience in 1st / 2nd fix carpentry or related construction roles
- Skilled in fabrication, assembly, joinery, roofing, masonry, plumbing or electrical work is highly desirable
- Proficient with hand tools and power tools used in construction environments
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday
- Knowledge of construction painting techniques and finishing processes
- Relevant certifications such as CSCS card or equivalent are preferred; DBS clearance is mandatory for this role
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations on construction sites
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude towards problem-solving
