Role Overview
As a Property Maintenance Operative with ARPG Construction Ltd, you will carry out reactive and planned maintenance across a mixture of single properties and blocks of apartments and void referbishment . This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same, ideal for someone practical, organised, and confident working independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend reactive maintenance call-outs and complete repairs efficiently, safely and to a good standard of finish.
- Carry out scheduled / planned maintenance works, minor refurbishment tasks, and preventative checks.
- Complete a wide range of general repairs including:
- Joinery (doors, locks/handles, hinges, skirting/architrave, minor repairs and adjustments).
- Basic plumbing (tap/valve changes, toilet repairs, waste traps, minor leaks, sealing/silicone).
- Basic electrics (changing lamps/bulbs, replacing sockets/switches, basic fault finding within competence).
- Patch plastering/filling, decorating touch-ups, tiling repairs, flooring repairs, mastic/silicone works.
- Diagnose issues, identify root cause and propose practical solutions before replacing parts unnecessarily.
- Carry out repairs in occupied homes, keeping disruption to a minimum and maintaining a tidy work area.
- Liaise with tenants/residents, site staff and property managers in a professional, customer-focused manner.
- Report follow-on works, parts requirements and anything requiring specialist trades (e.g., Gas Safe, qualified electrical work).
- Maintain van stock/consumables, keep the company vehicle clean and report any defects or servicing requirements.
- Complete job records, photos and updates (e.g., job sheets/apps) with clear notes and outcomes.
- Ensure works comply with health and safety requirements, company standards and good practice.

- Good timekeeping and the ability to plan routes and manage multiple jobs in a day.
- Able to work alone but also support other trades/teams when required.
- Strong awareness of limits of competence, escalating where work requires qualified specialists.
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment and respect residents’ homes and communal areas.
- Propensity for learning and willingness to investigate and complete tasks.
Tools & Vehicle
- Company vehicle provided for work use.
- Operative must supply their own tools suitable for multi-trade maintenance (hand tools and power tools).
- ARPG Construction Ltd will provide agreed job materials/consumables and required PPE.
- Training & Development
- Ongoing training and support provided to ensure continued health and safety compliance and safe working practices.
- Access to role-relevant CPD and development to strengthen multi-trade skills and support progression within the business.
- Support with mandatory/refresher training where required (e.g., health and safety, manual handling, working at height, asbestos awareness and site inductions).
Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar maintenance / multi-skilled role.
- Good technical knowledge base across all residential property.
