Counterbalance Forklift Operator
We are seeking a reliable and experienced self-employed Counterbalance Forklift Operator to join our logistics team. This role involves operating a counterbalance forklift to load and unload materials safely and efficiently, including loading goods onto flatbed vans for dispatch.

Responsibilities
- Operate a counterbalance forklift safely to load, unload, and transport goods within the warehouse and loading areas.
- Load materials safely and securely onto flatbed vans for dispatch.
- Move and position stock around the warehouse as required.
- Handle materials efficiently, ensuring correct stacking, storage, and organisation of stock.
- Assist with loading and unloading incoming and outgoing deliveries.
- Check goods and materials before loading to ensure accuracy and prevent damage.
- Prepare materials and orders for dispatch.
- Carry out regular safety checks on the forklift and report any faults or maintenance issues promptly.
- Keep warehouse and loading areas clean, organised, and safe.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and forklift operating guidelines.
- Assist with general warehouse duties when required.
- Use the warehouse management system (WMS) to record and track stock movements where required.
- Carry out basic stock counts and measurements.
- Report damaged goods, incorrect stock, or other issues to the supervisor.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating a counterbalance forklift.
- Valid counterbalance forklift certification/licence is preferred.
- Previous warehouse or logistics experience is highly desirable.
- Good understanding of forklift safety and warehouse health and safety procedures.
- Experience loading and unloading vehicles using a counterbalance forklift is an advantage.
- Ability to safely handle and move heavy materials.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently as part of a team.
- Physically fit and able to lift and handle heavy loads when required.
- Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
- Basic maths skills for stock counts, measurements, and loading requirements.
Working Hours
Sunday – Thursday
Option 1: 18:00 – 02:00
Option 2: 19:00 – 03:00
8-hour shifts
Loading takes place mainly between 23:00 and 02:00.
