We are seeking a passionate and dedicated weekend Swim Instructor to join our team.
We have hours available all day Saturdays from 0830 -1700 * possibility to split the day into two 4 hour shifts if required.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sports coaching and teaching, with the ability to inspire and motivate students of all ages. Our Swimmers are aged between 3 and 7 years old therefore experience with younger children a must.
**Baby Preschool qualification would be an excellent advantage but not mandatory at this stage
As a Swim Instructor, you will play a crucial role in developing swimming skills, promoting water safety, and fostering a positive learning environment.
Duties
- Conduct swimming lessons for individuals and groups, tailoring instruction to meet the needs of each student.
- Develop lesson plans that incorporate various swimming techniques and safety practices.
- Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their skills.
- Create a fun and engaging atmosphere that encourages participation and enjoyment in swimming.
- Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing pool rules and regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the swimming area before, during, and after lessons.
- Communicate effectively with students and their parents regarding progress, concerns, or achievements.
- Cover for other teachers where applicable
Experience
- Previous experience in sports coaching or teaching is a must
- Strong knowledge of swimming techniques and water safety practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with students of all ages.
- A friendly and approachable demeanour that fosters trust and rapport with learners.
- Relevant certifications in swim instruction -ie STA award in teaching and /or STA certificate in teaching or equivalent
- Baby Preschool qualification would be a bonus however Level 1 or 2 stage teaching qualification minimum required
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £20.00 per hour
