Stores Operative
Vanliners is one of the leading vehicle conversion companies based in Hindley Green, and we are looking for a Stores Operative to join our busy workforce.

Responsibilities Include:
- To receive and check all deliveries against supplier advice notes, advising any discrepancies to Purchasing. Unload deliveries using suitable manual handling techniques or the FLT as required.
- To use our internal CRM system.
- To monitor stock levels of all stocked items and consumables. Request replacement parts from Purchasing when necessary.
- To issue consumables to both on-site and off-site fitters as required.
- To use a company vehicle to do occasional collections of parts in the local area as required.
- To pick all parts needed for the following working days off-site job runs. Advise production of any parts that are unavailable before noon each day.
- To ensure the security of all products within the stores remit. Also, to issue company owned tools when requested by means of logging any tools issued and collecting back on a daily basis. Reporting any missing or damaged/faulty items or suspicions to senior management in the first instance for investigation.
- To monitor the condition of all access equipment using a 6 monthly check pattern, isolating any faulty items and advising senior management immediately of any issues.
- To liaise with the Sales Department regarding cancelled orders and ensure that any parts no longer required are utilised on other jobs or returned to supplier if applicable.
- To help keep the site clean, tidy and safe.
- To ensure all waste streams are being used effectively and that all recyclable materials are disposed of in the correct manner. Minimising General Waste to the lowest levels possible.
- To be encouraged to take a full part in helping the Stores / Purchasing Department develop and evolve, ensuring we always offer the best service to each department we deal with.
- Provide cover for the Purchasing Manager when required during leave, absence or busy periods and use the CRM system.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in a stores environment is desirable.
- Ability to work in a team, under direction and to your own initiative
- Reliable and hardworking, with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and multitask.
- Excellent organisational, communication and time management skills.
- Willingness to learn
- Driving license and Forklift/telehandler license (desirable)
- Proficiency in IT Microsoft packages and general computer literacy.
