We're looking for motivated and observant individuals to join our Environmental Clerk of Work team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop or further their career in environmental consultancy, working on a diverse range of housing, renewable energy and infrastructure projects across Scotland.
The Role:
- Deliver environmental compliance monitoring, auditing and advisory support across a range of construction projects.
- Monitor compliance with planning conditions, environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare environmental compliance reports, Surface Water Management Plans (SWMPs) and Pollution Prevention Plans (PPPs).
- Identify environmental risks and advise on practical mitigation measures.
- Support the successful delivery of projects within agreed budgets and programmes.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, contractors, regulators and project partners.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality environmental solutions.
- Assist with technical reporting and project documentation.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and the development of environmental best practice within the team.
What We’re Looking For:
- A degree in Environmental Management or a related environmental discipline.
- Full UK Driving License.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
- Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
- Good time management and record-keeping skills.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
Desirable experience
- MSc or further qualification in a relevant environmental discipline.
- Experience supporting environmental compliance on construction projects.
- Experience working with contractors and providing site-based environmental advice.
- Knowledge of environmental legislation, policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Understanding of CAR, SuDS, EIA, flood risk and pollution prevention guidance.
- Environmental Clerk of Works (EnvCoW) experience.
- Current CSCS card.
- Membership of the Association of Environmental Clerks of Works (AECoW).
