Creative Café Assistant & Party Host (Sundays)
Part-Time | Permanent Position
Do you have a big personality, love working with people and enjoy making someone’s day?
We’re looking for a friendly, confident and enthusiastic person to join our team at Pictura Chester, our busy creative café and pottery painting studio in the heart of Chester.
This is much more than a café role. One moment you’ll be welcoming families, the next you’ll be hosting a children’s birthday party, helping customers choose pottery to paint, serving great coffee and making sure every visitor leaves with a smile.
If you’re someone who naturally chats to people, loves working with children and adults alike, and thrives in a busy, creative environment, we’d love to hear from you.
The Role
As part of our team you’ll be involved in:
- Hosting children’s birthday parties and special events.
- Welcoming customers and creating a fantastic first impression.
- Explaining how pottery painting and our creative activities work.
- Serving barista coffee, drinks and light refreshments.
- Helping customers throughout their visit.
- Preparing and resetting tables.
- Keeping the studio clean, organised and inviting.
- Answering customer enquiries in person and over the phone.
- Supporting the wider team wherever needed.
We’re Looking For Someone Who Is:
- Friendly, confident and outgoing.
- Brilliant with both children and adults.
- An excellent communicator.
- Organised and able to multitask.
- Calm under pressure during busy periods.
- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
- Takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service.
- Uses their own initiative and enjoys working as part of a team.
- Has a positive attitude and enjoys learning new skills.
Previous hospitality, café, childcare or customer service experience would be an advantage, but personality, attitude and reliability are far more important to us. Full training will be provided.
An enhanced DBS check is preferred but not essential, as we can arrange this for the successful candidate if required.
Hours
- Permanent part-time position.
- Sunday working is essential.
- Additional hours available during school holidays, seasonal events and busy periods, including opportunities to cover additional shifts.
Pay & Benefits
- National Minimum/Living Wage (depending on age) to start.
- Pay review following successful completion of your 3-month probationary period.
- Company pension scheme.
- Access to BrightHR employee benefits, including discounts and savings through the employee perks platform.
- Staff discount.
- Full training provided.
- Opportunity to develop new skills in a fun, creative and supportive environment.
If you love working with people and want to be part of a business that creates memorable experiences every day, we’d love to hear from you.
