Join Our Orthopaedic Theatre Team
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Theatre Scrub Practitioner to join our Orthopaedic Theatres team at The London Clinic.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated theatre professional who is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care and supporting complex orthopaedic procedures within one of the UK's leading independent charitable hospitals.
Orthopaedic experience is essential for this role, and applicants must have previous Band 6 experience within a theatre setting.
About Us
Established in 1932, The London Clinic is one of the UK's largest private hospitals and an independent charity. We are committed to delivering exceptional patient care, supporting medical innovation and investing in our people.
Our 1,000+ colleagues work across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical services, united by a shared commitment to delivering the highest standards of care and service. We are proud to be the only independent healthcare provider included in the Top 10 of the Financial Times' UK Best Employers Survey 2026.
As a charity, every surplus we generate is reinvested into our facilities, technology, research and people, helping us continue to provide exceptional care for our patients.
Our culture is shaped by our values: We Go Further, We Work As One, and We Personalise Care. These principles guide how we support one another, collaborate across teams and deliver outstanding patient experiences every day.
The Role
Our Theatre department consists of 10 operating theatres, supporting a wide range of elective and complex surgical procedures across multiple specialties. The Orthopaedic service is a key part of the department, working alongside leading consultants and multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
This role sits within our Orthopaedic team, where you will spend the majority of your time supporting a varied orthopaedic caseload, including major joint replacement surgery, complex revision procedures, spinal surgery, sports injury surgery and other specialist orthopaedic interventions. However, as part of a collaborative theatre department, you will also be expected to support other specialties as service needs require.
You will work within a modern theatre environment equipped with advanced surgical technology, including robotic surgery. In March 2026, The London Clinic made medical history by becoming the first hospital in the UK to successfully perform remote robot assisted telesurgery, with a surgeon in London operating on a patient in Gibraltar over 2,400km away. This groundbreaking achievement reflects our commitment to innovation and provides our theatre teams with the opportunity to work at the forefront of surgical advancement and emerging technologies.
The role offers exposure to complex cases and advanced surgical techniques, providing excellent opportunities to further develop your orthopaedic expertise while working alongside some of the UK's leading surgeons.
Alongside your clinical responsibilities, you will act as a senior member of the team, supporting the day to day coordination of theatre activities, mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to the ongoing development of services within the department.

A Word From Our Team
To give you a real insight into what it is like to work within our Theatre teams, here is what Oreene Sunglao, Senior Theatre Practitioner, says about their experience at The London Clinic:
"What has kept me at The London Clinic is the recognition I have received for my hard work. The support I provide to the department and the theatre team has always been consistent ever since I became a scrub practitioner a couple of years ago. I used to think that the small and hefty things I do each day at work would go unnoticed, but my colleagues, surgeons, anaesthetists, and other members of the team have recognised and appreciated my compassion and dedication in theatres.
I believe that it is very important when your work and value are recognised, it motivates you to continue working harder and wanting to contribute even more for the institution"
