Chef for a Cairngorm Country Inn
We are seeking a Chef to help us develop and modernise our restaurant.
Passionate about Scottish seasonal produce, using the best ingredients creatively to provide a wonderful experience for loyal locals and a healthy tourist trade in a gastopub setting.
Duties
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes to order.
- Design seasonal menus using local produce.
- Assume ordering and stock control duties
- Work effectively with our small team. We are a very friendly and dedicated team who are looking forward to a new challenge.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen at all times
- Lead by example in delivering excellent hospitality and service standards
Essential qualities
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment.
- An excellent team worker with strong communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills .
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
The Cairn Hotel is a celebrated Highland inn, set in prime position in the Cairngorm National Park. With a 60 seat restaurant, we are the community hub for Carrbridge. We benefit from a strong tourist trade during the main season and occasionally enjoy some outside catering, street food, or other interesting opportunities, mainly to provide a bit of variety for our team.
We have benefitted from having a very loyal Chef team who have been with us for many years, but we can now present a rare opportunity to lead our restaurant offering to the next level.
The successful candidate will work well the the owner/operator to help us offer consistently excellent food, presented well, ensuring our team deliver each plate with pride.

Pay: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
