Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Sleep Night Care Assistant to provide overnight support within a care home environment. This role is vital in ensuring residents feel safe, comfortable, and well-cared for during the night hours. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be attentive to residents’ needs, and have the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of care. Duties
- Monitor residents throughout the night, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Respond promptly and effectively to residents’ calls for assistance or needs during the night.
- Assist with personal care tasks such as repositioning residents to prevent pressure sores and maintaining comfort.
- Follow individual care plans meticulously to meet each resident’s specific requirements.
- Document any incidents or observations accurately in residents’ records.
- Support with light domestic tasks such as tidying communal areas or preparing refreshments if required.
- Communicate effectively with day staff during handovers to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain a calm and reassuring presence, fostering a peaceful environment conducive to restful sleep for residents.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a care home or home care setting is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
- Basic IT skills for documentation and communication purposes.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken, to ensure clear communication with residents and team members.
- Driving licence is desirable but not mandatory; flexibility in travel may be required for certain duties.
- Strong communication skills are essential for liaising effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in providing high-quality care to vulnerable individuals.
