About us
Belt Studio Ltd designs and manufactures belts, bags and a full range of leather goods in our North West London workshop, selling online and through our Covent Garden retail units. We are a small, hands-on team that takes pride in the quality of what we make.
The role
A skilled leatherworker who also runs the workshop. You'll make leather goods to a high standard, control stock and supply our retail units, manage our website and online sales content, and lead the workshop team to deliver quality, productivity and a safe, clean working environment.
Key responsibilitiesManufacturing
- Making the full range of leather goods using all suitable machines and bench work.
- Reviewing manufacturing processes for efficiency in time and materials.
- Maintaining safe working practices and clean, safe work areas.
- Sharing in keeping the workshop clean, including general cleaning and housekeeping duties.
Stock control
- Monitoring stock levels and placing orders with suppliers.
- Collecting, collating and packing stock for customers and retail units.
- Maintaining clean and safe stock areas.
- Providing cover at the retail units in emergencies, or on the rare occasions when no alternative cover is available (occasional, last-resort only).
People & workshop management
- Supervising leatherworkers, coordinators, trainees and apprentices, and instructing them on tasks and duties.
- Ensuring quality and productivity across the workshop's output.
- Planning and delivering projects to deadline.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and well-organised work environment.
- Supporting the training and development of junior staff.
Marketing & social media content
- Taking part in and appearing in social media and marketing content (including photography and video) produced to promote the Company and its brands.
Confidentiality
- Ensuring confidential and commercially sensitive information is not divulged without the relevant authority.

Person specification
Essential
- Proven leatherworking skill across the main machines (sewing machines, presses, skivers, splitters) and bench work.
- Experience running or supervising a workshop or production environment.
- Stock control and supplier management experience.
- Confident with website / online product content and everyday digital tools.
- Organised, quality-focused and safety-conscious.
- Able to lead, instruct and develop junior staff.
Desirable
- Experience in leather goods or small-batch manufacturing.
- Familiarity with ecommerce and EPOS systems.
Pay: £32,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
