Overview
We are a home care provider - domiciliary care. This job is not in a care home setting. You will be going out into the community to deliver care to people who still live in their own homes. This will be in and around the Colchester area. You will need your own vehicle to travel to clients - THIS IS ESSENTIAL
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team, providing high-quality support to individuals in their own homes . The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be attentive to clients' needs, and demonstrate a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for those in their care.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility - all within their own home
- Support clients ensuring personalised care is delivered effectively
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in clients’ conditions should be reported to your manager
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding if required and any household duties
- Occasional support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
- Communicate effectively with clients, families.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a home care carer or experience of working in a care home environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- VALID DRIVING LICENSE AND OWN CAR IS ESSENTIAL for all community visits and home care support
- Good organisational skills to manage care plans and daily routines efficiently
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Compassionate nature with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required, including weekends
£15.00 per hour weekdays
£16.00 per hour weekends
