Position: Chartered Surveyor - Project Management
Location: Town Hall, Ripley, Derbyshire, DE5 3BT, United Kingdom
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 20 weeks (5+ Months)
Working Hours: 15 hours per week; 2 Days per week: 1 ITO and 1 WFH (Ideally Monday WFH and Tuesday ITO)
Pay Rate: PAYE: £289.77 per day
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and deliver building and property projects from inception through to completion
- Prepare project plans, specifications, budgets and programmes
- Manage contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders
- Monitor project costs, quality, progress and deadlines
- Undertake property/building surveys and identify required works
- Manage procurement and contract processes in line with Council procedures
- Ensure projects comply with relevant legislation, building regulations, health & safety and professional standards
- Provide professional advice on building and estate-related matters
- Prepare reports, recommendations and project updates for senior management
- Identify and manage project risks and resolve issues effectively
Person Specification:
- Qualified Chartered Surveyor with relevant professional membership (e.g. RICS)
- Strong experience in building surveying and project management
- Experience managing construction, refurbishment or property-related projects
- Good knowledge of procurement, contracts, budgets and project management processes
- Experience managing contractors, consultants and multiple stakeholders
- Strong understanding of relevant building regulations, health & safety and property legislation
- Excellent communication, negotiation and report-writing skills
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Experience within a Local Authority or public-sector property/estates environment is desirable
- Ability to work independently and provide professional advice and recommendations
