We are looking for motivated Shift Engineer Technicians to help maintain and improve the performance, reliability and efficiency of our production operations.
About the Role
As a Shift Engineer Technician, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our production equipment operates safely, efficiently and reliably. Working as part of a dedicated Engineering team, you will provide both reactive and planned maintenance support while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and respond to equipment breakdowns, minimising downtime through effective fault finding and repair.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities in accordance with maintenance schedules.
- Continuously monitor plant and equipment performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Support continuous improvement projects to enhance reliability, productivity and operational efficiency.
- Update and develop maintenance procedures to maximise asset performance.
- Work closely with production teams, engineers and contractors to resolve technical issues.
- Ensure all engineering activities are completed in compliance with health, safety and quality standards.
- Support the training and development of operators and colleagues on new and existing equipment.
- Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurring failures.
About You
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical ability with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
Essential
- Completed engineering apprenticeship or equivalent time-served experience.
- Electrical and/or mechanical engineering qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, ONC, HNC or equivalent).
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Good communication and teamworking skills.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English and Science.
Desirable
- Experience within FMCG, food, beverage or high-speed manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of automated production equipment.
- PLC interrogation and fault-finding experience.
- Experience contributing to continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
