Join WillisPalmer as a Family Support Worker
WillisPalmer is looking for skilled, independent Family Support Workers to join our growing network. This is an opportunity to play a vital role in helping children thrive by guiding parents, strengthening family bonds, and promoting safe, nurturing home environments.
Role Overview
You’ll provide practical guidance and support to families experiencing challenges in parenting, from caring for newborns to navigating teenage years. Your role will involve offering practical advice on safe care and positive parenting, building parents’ skills, and promoting children’s welfare.
Many of the families you work with will have children subject to Child in Need, Child Protection, or Care Proceedings meaning a thorough understanding of safeguarding practices is essential.
This is a self-employed, assignment-based role, perfect for experienced professionals who want flexible, meaningful work. We currently require Family Support Workers with day & night shifts available, lasting up to 12 hours.

Remuneration
Hourly rate: £16.00, plus travel.
Your Skills & Experience
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification (or equivalent or higher)
- At least 12 months’ experience working with parents whose children are known to Children’s Social Care
- Ability to maintain a strong focus on child safeguarding while lone working with families
- Experience following child protection / safeguarding processes
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and communication skills
- Experience producing factual, formal reports in Microsoft Word

- This is not an employed position — you must operate as a sole trader or limited company with relevant insurances
- An Enhanced DBS check, professional references and verification of identity and Right to Work will be required
