Little Stars Childcare is looking to recruit a caring, enthusiastic, and organised Nursery Cook to join our friendly team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys preparing healthy, nutritious meals and wants to make a positive difference to children's wellbeing.
You will be responsible for planning, preparing, and serving meals and snacks for approximately 40 children aged 0–4 years each day, ensuring all meals meet healthy eating guidelines and cater for individual dietary requirements.
About the Role
- 22.5 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
- Preparing meals and snacks for children aged 0–4 years
- Menu planning in line with healthy eating guidance
- Managing dietary requirements, allergies, and food intolerances
- Ordering food and maintaining stock levels
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
- Completing food safety records and checks
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience cooking in a professional environment
- Understands healthy eating and nutrition
- Has knowledge of food hygiene and food safety requirements
- Can work independently and manage their own workload
- Is organised, reliable, and enthusiastic
- Enjoys working in a childcare environment
Essential Requirements
- Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above) or willingness to obtain
- Experience of preparing meals in a professional setting
- Understanding of dietary requirements and allergies
Desirable
- Experience within a nursery, preschool, or school kitchen
- Knowledge of EYFS healthy eating guidance
- Additional food safety qualifications
