The Sushi Co is looking for a reliable and skilled Hot Food Chef to join our team at our Liverpool Central location. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and takes pride in food quality, cleanliness, and consistency.
As a Hot Food Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking hot food dishes to company standards while maintaining excellent hygiene and food safety practices. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and high-quality food service during busy periods. Key Responsibilities
- Set up workstations with all required ingredients and cooking equipment
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables and preparing meat
- Cook food using a variety of utensils and equipment
- Monitor food while cooking, including stirring and turning as required
- Ensure dishes are well presented before service
- Maintain a clean, sanitised, and organised kitchen environment
- Store food and ingredients correctly in line with food safety standards
- Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering when shortages occur
- Follow hygiene and Food Safety principles at all times and keep your station clean
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Hot Food Chef or Kitchen Chef (preferred)
- Experience in a restaurant, takeaway, or high-volume kitchen environment
- Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Strong attention to cleanliness and organisation
- Reliable, punctual, and a positive team player
