Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team, providing high-quality support to individuals in care homes and those receiving home care. A valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate travel between locations.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
- Support individuals with their care plans, helping them achieve their personal goals and maintain independence
- Provide companionship and emotional support to service users, fostering a friendly and trusting environment
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals and maintain accurate records of care provided
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding where necessary, ensuring dietary requirements are met
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities using IT systems and report any concerns or changes in health status to senior staff
- Support clients with light domestic tasks to promote a safe and comfortable living environment
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care delivery
Experience
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care setting is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of care plans and procedures related to personal care and medication administration is desirable
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with clients and team members
- Driving experience or possession of a valid driving licence is preferred for roles requiring travel between locations
