Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
1. Lead the development, implementation and continual improvement of the Health & Safety Management System.
2. Ensure compliance with all relevant UK Health & Safety legislation and company standards.
3. Develop and maintain Health & Safety policies, procedures and Safe Systems of Work.
4. Manage risk assessments, COSHH assessments and DSEAR compliance.
5. Lead accident, incident and near miss investigations and implement corrective actions.
6. Manage statutory inspection programmes including PUWER, LOLER, pressure systems and fire safety alongside Engineering.
7. Undertake planned audits and workplace inspections.
8. Manage contractor approval, induction and permit-to-work systems alongside Engineering.
9. Deliver Health & Safety training, inductions and toolbox talks.
10. Chair Health & Safety Committee meetings and monitor actions.
11. Produce Health & Safety KPI reports for the leadership team.
12. Act as the primary contact for the HSE and other enforcement bodies.
13. Support capital projects to ensure Health & Safety by design.
14. Promote behavioral safety and continuous improvement.
15. Support all departments in achieving safe, legally compliant operations.
Qualifications, Experience, Technical Skills/Knowledge
· NEBOSH National General Certificate (minimum).
· IOSH membership (TechIOSH/GradIOSH desirable).
· Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG.
· Strong knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act, PUWER, LOLER, COSHH, DSEAR, Fire Safety and CDM Regulations.
· Experience leading audits, inspections and incident investigations.
· Excellent communication, report writing and influencing skills.
· Competent in analysing trends and driving continuous improvement.

Pay: £45,000.00-£57,000.00 per year
