Support Worker
We are looking for kind, reliable and compassionate Support Workers to join the team within a welcoming elderly residential care home.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting older people and wants to make a genuine difference to their day-to-day lives. You will provide practical and emotional support while promoting dignity, independence, choice and wellbeing.
You’ll be joining a supportive team where providing high-quality, person-centred care is at the heart of everything they do.
Responsibilities
- Support residents with their day-to-day needs, including personal care, dressing, mobility and mealtimes
- Encourage residents to maintain as much independence and choice as possible
- Provide companionship and emotional support, taking the time to get to know each resident
- Assist residents with activities and social opportunities within the home
- Follow individual care plans and ensure residents receive the right level of support
- Observe and report any changes in a resident’s health, wellbeing or behaviour
- Maintain accurate care records and documentation
- Support residents with dignity, respect and compassion at all times
- Work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals
- Follow safeguarding, infection control, health & safety and other relevant care procedures
- Help create a safe, comfortable and homely environment for residents
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within elderly care, residential care, healthcare or support work is desirable
- A caring, patient and compassionate approach
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Comfortable supporting residents with personal care
- A genuine passion for supporting older people
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Understanding of dignity, safeguarding and person-centred care
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
