We are expanding our services across Manchester, Bury, Oldham, Bolton and Stockport and are looking for caring, reliable and motivated Support Workers to join our team.
Previous experience is preferred but not essential. Full training and support will be provided to the right candidates.
About the Role
As a Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities and other support needs.
You will support individuals with their daily lives, promote independence and help them achieve their personal goals while ensuring their dignity, safety and wellbeing are maintained.
You will work as part of a supportive team and follow each individual's care and support plan.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties may include:
- Supporting individuals with daily activities and promoting independence.
- Following individual care and support plans.
- Promoting choice, dignity, respect and wellbeing.
- Supporting individuals to develop and maintain life skills.
- Supporting with medication where you have received the appropriate training and have been assessed as competent.
- Keeping accurate, timely and confidential records.
- Completing daily paperwork and care documentation to the required standard.
- Supporting with meal planning, food preparation and shopping.
- Working positively and professionally with relatives, advocates and other professionals.
- Following safeguarding, health and safety and infection prevention and control procedures.
- Reporting concerns, incidents or changes in an individual's wellbeing to the appropriate manager.
- Attending reviews and person-centred planning meetings when required.
- Building positive and professional relationships with the people we support.
- Maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Completing mandatory training and any additional training required for the role.
Working Hours
We have full-time and part-time positions available.
The role involves working day shifts and night shifts according to the needs of the service.
Applicants must be flexible and willing to work day shifts, night shifts, or a combination of both, depending on the needs of the service.
Working hours and shift patterns may vary from time to time and may include weekend working, depending on the needs of the service and business requirements.
Part-time applicants are welcome; however, you will be required to be flexible and willing to work day and night shifts, including weekends, in line with the needs of the service and business requirements. Your availability will be discussed during the recruitment process.

Experience and Qualifications
Previous Experience:
Experience in support work, health or social care is preferred but not essential.
Qualification:
NVQ/QCF Level 2 Health and Social Care is preferred but not essential.
Driving Licence:
A full UK driving licence is preferred but not required.
English Language:
You must have sufficient English language skills to communicate effectively with the people we support, colleagues and other professionals, and to understand and complete relevant care and safety documentation.
Training and Development
Full induction and training will be provided.
You will be required to complete relevant mandatory training and competency assessments before carrying out certain duties independently.
Ongoing training and development opportunities will be available to support you in your role.
