Motor Vehicle Technician / Mechanic

We have an excellent opportunity for a Motor Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join our workshop team at T J Hamilton & Co.
We are keen to hear from technicians from all backgrounds – whether you currently work in a main dealership, an independent garage or are a final-year apprentice looking for the opportunity to develop your career.
You do not need previous Volkswagen experience. Full manufacturer training will be provided, with the opportunity to progress through the Volkswagen training programme.
The Role
Working as part of our experienced workshop team, your duties will include:
- Carrying out vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Using modern diagnostic equipment
- Carrying out vehicle health checks and inspections
- Road testing vehicles where required
- Working to a high standard of quality and customer care
Who We're Looking For
We would be interested in hearing from:
- Qualified Vehicle Technicians / Mechanics
- Technicians currently working in independent garages
- Main dealership technicians looking for a change
- Final-year motor vehicle apprentices
- Technicians looking to develop their diagnostic and technical skills
Ideally, you will have an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification, or be currently working towards completing your qualification.
A full UK driving licence is required.
Previous dealership or Volkswagen experience is not essential.
Training & Career Development
We are committed to developing the right person. Volkswagen manufacturer training will be provided, including training at Volkswagen UK's National Learning Centre in Milton Keynes after a qualifying period.
Hours
Monday to Friday – 8.30am to 5.30pm
