PDI Technician
Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
Shift: Monday-Thursday, 15:00-00:30 (30-minute unpaid break) and Friday, 15:00-19:00 (40 hours per week)
Salary: £36,960 per annum
Contract: Full-Time, Temp to Perm
We are currently recruiting for PDI Technicians to join a busy automotive preparation centre in Peterborough. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced operation and work alongside experienced technicians within a professional workshop environment.
We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals with a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
The Role:
As a PDI Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on a range of vehicles
- Completing vehicle safety checks and identifying any faults or defects
- Conducting levels checks and general vehicle inspections
- Diagnosing and reporting issues found during the inspection process
- Completing all repair and inspection documentation accurately
- Working to productivity and quality targets within a busy workshop environment
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with company procedures and safety standards
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping within the workshop
The Person:
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent qualification
- Previous experience working as a PDI Technician, Vehicle Technician, or similar automotive role
- Good communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and organised approach to work
- Competent using computer systems and workshop software
- Honest, reliable, and quality-focused approach
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- MOT Tester qualification would be advantageous but is not essential
- Previous dealership experience is desirable but not essential
- Own tools are essential
- Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points for minor offences
