Our BRC AA+ processing facility in Liverpool, has a production capacity of over 500MT per week producing both warm water prawns, cold water prawns, and added-value seafood lines.
Job Purpose
As a Class 1 Day Driver, working an average 48 hours per week contract, you will need to be professional, enthusiastic, and reliable; customer focused and maintain road safety and compliance at all times.
You should demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and be able to deal with an array of customers. When out on the road you are an ambassador for the company at all times and the face of the company, having that daily interaction with customers and building and maintaining long lasting relationships.
Manual handling activities such as, but not limited to, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying will be required.
Typical shifts are an average of 9 hours per day and start times vary between 06:00 and 10:00. Drivers can expect an average of 3 to 6 drops per shift, depending on the route and load. Days of work are Sunday to Thursday.
Principal Accountabilities
You’ll transport fresh, ambient, and frozen goods to our distribution depots around the UK and also to customer premises. Beginning each shift from a well-organised, modern depot in Warrington, with clean, well-maintained vehicles. Our fleet is new on the road and just over 2 years old. Deliveries are made using tail lifts for ease. Full training and induction will be provided to ensure you’re fully prepared and work safely from day one.
The role will also involve shunting trailers between our Warrington Depot and our Manufacturing Facility in Sefton, Liverpool. You will also be required to move containers between Liverpool to Warrington – full training on this will be given. Port Passes will be provided.
Main responsibilities
- Manage deliveries of orders to customers and company DC’s according to the plan for the day
- Operating the vehicle in safe and legal manner, guaranteeing it has been loaded correctly prior to leaving
- All required paperwork to be completed correctly and legible (fuel sheet/defect book/returns/delivery notes).
- All deliveries to be completed correctly (this may at times involve waiting)
- Tachographs are a legal requirement and your responsibility to ensure that you are compliant as a driver
- Operating automated lift decks as may be required on a day-to-day basis
Essential
- Clean HGV Class 1 licence.
- Valid CPC training and Digital Tacho card.
- Physically active due to nature of the job including heavy lifting.
- Minimum of 12 months proven Class 1 driving experience essential
Desirable
Experience of working on containers would be desirable
