Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented MOT Tester/Mechanic to join our dynamic automotive team. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive MOT testing on a variety of vehicle makes and models, ensuring compliance with legal safety standards.
- Perform routine vehicle repairs and maintenance, including brake checks, suspension work, exhaust system repairs, and tire replacements.
- Use hand tools and power tools to carry out diagnostic procedures and mechanical repairs accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks such as moving engines, tires, or other vehicle components safely using appropriate equipment.
- Document all inspections, repairs, and test results clearly in accordance with company procedures and legal requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair needs and recommendations clearly to clients.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and socket sets.
- Experience using power tools for various repair tasks.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently as part of daily duties.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate testing and repairs.
- Good communication skills for explaining technical issues to customers.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a busy workshop environment.
