About the role
The Payroll & Accounts Administrator will support the efficient operation of the finance department by helping to deliver accurate and timely payroll, accounts and administration processes.
You will play an important role in ensuring payroll and financial transactions are processed in line with company procedures and regulatory requirements, while also providing support to colleagues, suppliers and other departments across the business.
Key responsibilities
Your duties will include:
- Processing monthly payroll, including checking clocking-in requirements through the time management system
- Processing pension contribution payments
- Communicating with staff regarding payroll updates and queries
- Managing purchase ledger invoices, purchase orders and approvals through automation software
- Checking, matching and processing finance documents accurately
- Processing sales invoices for Moody Logistics and other group companies, including rent and utilities
- Acting as a point of contact between finance, vendors and internal departments
- Recording staff sickness, holidays and absences
- Maintaining training arrangements and ensuring training records are kept up to date
- Administering the time management system
- Keeping company policies and processes up to date
- Supporting the smooth running of day-to-day office administration
About you
We are looking for someone who is proactive, confident and positive in their approach.
You will need to be well organised, able to manage multiple priorities and committed to maintaining accuracy in everything you do. As this role involves handling confidential financial and staff information, you must be trustworthy, discreet and professional at all times.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in accounts administration, finance or bookkeeping
- Payroll experience
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel and accountancy software
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- GCSE English and Maths, or equivalent qualifications
Knowledge of VAT and basic accounting principles would be beneficial, and experience using Sage software would be an advantage.
