Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join a private equity owned business in Sussex. The business is highly acquisitive and has consistently delivered double digit growth. The successful candidate will get the opportunity to join a strong finance team, and to work with and learn from a friendly and hardworking department with a healthy proportion of qualified accounts.
This is a new, commercially focused finance role, which will work closely with the sales and marketing teams to drive revenue growth at Aspen Pumps. The role will focus on European and ROW sales (Excluding Aspen N. America and Aspen Asia), but will also have the ability to influence business partnering across the group. The scope of the role includes but is not limited to:
- Building constructive relationships with the sales team, so to hold a mirror up to the business, and identify risks / opportunities.
- Reshape the sales reporting / dashboarding, removing unnecessary reporting and creating information that adds value by identifying proactive business levers, such as ‘White spaces’, lead sales performance indicators, market share analysis, new / replacement items and cross selling, people cost for sales vs return.
- Regular forecasting updates for sales, rebates, IT and marketing, and driving improvements in the accuracy of forecasting.
- Working with category management to constructively challenge decisions and monitor performance in new / replacement / phase out items.
- Working with IT to manage Opex and Capex, constructively challenging spend and strategy.
- Leading the annual budget for sales, rebates, IT and marketing.
- Pricing strategy and alignment (including making sure GM% is maintained or improved).
- Rebates strategy and net pricing
- Sales and Market strategy and analysis
- Working with the FP&A team to ensure stakeholders have easy self-serve access to the information they need.
- Acting as a filter to prevent large volumes of FP&A reporting requests by different parts of the business (drive efficiency in reporting).
- Monthly MI commentaries on Sales, Rebates and Marketing.
Key Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- An enthusiastic, self-starter and driven candidate with a desire for a challenging but progressive finance career
- Experienced business partner, with a proven track record of building stakeholder relationships so to drive improved business performance and challenge stakeholders to constantly improve.
- Strategic and commercial mindset, able to identify key commercial priorities and drive the delivery of these.
- Experience in working with big data to drive commercial value and analytical insight is valuable.
- Ability to turn complex data into visual and understandable stories.
- Quick learner, with the ability to demonstrate this via experience in career to date
- Extremely strong analytical and excel skills are required, as this role will be analytically focused.
- Strong academic background and/or a demonstrated progressive CV within the workplace
- The candidate will need to be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, ideally with a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience.
- The candidate is likely to need to be able to drive, as they will be required to be in the office 3 days per week (Hybrid working)
Pay: Up to £71,500.00 per year
