Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide essential care and assistance to children and young people. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting individuals with their daily activities, fostering independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being. This role is for a full-time, permanent position working an average of 10 sessions per month including sleep ins, worked on a 2 sessions on, 4 sessions off rota pattern which includes working weekdays, weekends, bank and public holidays.
Responsibilities
- Support children and young people with daily routines, including meal preparation, education attendance and recreational activities
- Assist in implementing individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs
- Foster positive relationships through effective communication and engagement
- Drive children and young people to educational settings, appointments, or recreational activities as required
- Monitor and record progress or concerns in accordance with organisational policies
- Collaborate with families, social workers, and other professionals to ensure consistent support
- Being resilient whilst supporting children and young people when they are experiencing difficulties
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and safeguarding policies
- Support children and young people in developing life skills to promote independence
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or within childcare settings is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of child development principles and safeguarding procedures is advantageous
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with children, families, and team members
- A good level of IT skills for record keeping and reporting purposes are required
- A manual driving licence is required to facilitate transportation responsibilities
