At Calderdale Council, we're building a borough where people can thrive. Through our Vision 2034, we want Calderdale to be an enterprising place full of opportunity, where everyone is welcomed, supported and inspired to live a larger life. As one of our new HR Contracts and Payroll Administrators, you'll play a key role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately, supported professionally and able to deliver vital services to communities across Calderdale.
We're recruiting for two full-time permanent positions within our Contracts and Payroll Team and are looking for enthusiastic, customer-focused individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about delivering excellent service.
Whether you're looking to begin a career in HR and payroll administration or experienced in the field, our career grade structure offers an excellent opportunity to develop your knowledge, skills and professional qualifications.
As an HR Contracts and Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for providing an efficient, accurate and customer-focused contracts and payroll service to a diverse customer base including Council services, schools and traded service customers.
As part of a supportive and experienced team, you will deliver accurate payroll and employment administration, provide advice and support to stakeholders, ensure compliance with legislation and policies, maintain employee records, and help drive continuous improvement across our services.
At higher levels within the career grade, you'll take responsibility for more complex payroll and contractual matters, support quality assurance activities, mentor colleagues and help deliver training to stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be organised, detail-oriented and customer-focused, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. You'll be confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, and enjoy solving problems, building relationships and working as part of a team. Knowledge of working with a HR and/or Payroll system within a large organisation is desirable.
