Pat&Flo Care is looking for an experienced, compassionate, and motivated *Senior Support Worker* to join our Adult Day Care Centre in Bransholme, Hull. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about improving the lives of adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, physical disabilities, and older people by delivering high-quality, person-centred support in a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment.
Working closely with the *Centre Manager*, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the centre, ensuring the delivery of outstanding support services while leading and mentoring the support team. You will help coordinate daily activities, oversee service delivery, promote independence and wellbeing, and ensure that the centre operates in line with CQC Fundamental Standards, safeguarding requirements, and organisational policies.
Your responsibilities will include supporting the Centre Manager with the daily running of the service, supervising and providing guidance to Support Workers, allocating tasks, monitoring staff performance, and ensuring high standards of care are maintained at all times. You will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of a wide range of meaningful indoor and outdoor activities, including arts and crafts, music, exercise sessions, life skills programmes, gardening, community outings, educational visits, social events, and recreational activities that encourage participation, independence, confidence, and social inclusion. You will ensure all activities are person-centred, enjoyable, inclusive, appropriately risk assessed, and tailored to individual needs, interests, and abilities.
The successful candidate will build positive relationships with service users, their families, carers, healthcare professionals, social workers, and other stakeholders to ensure coordinated and effective support. You will monitor individuals' wellbeing, contribute to care planning and reviews, maintain accurate records and reports, respond appropriately to incidents and safeguarding concerns, support medication administration where trained, and ensure compliance with health and safety, infection prevention and control, confidentiality, equality and diversity, the Mental Capacity Act, and all relevant legislation and best practice guidance.
You will be expected to lead shifts in the absence of the Centre Manager, demonstrate excellent leadership skills, motivate the team, promote continuous improvement, contribute to quality assurance activities, and support the centre in achieving positive outcomes for all service users. A proactive, flexible, and professional approach is essential, together with excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Applicants should have previous experience working within adult social care, supported living, residential care, community services, or day opportunities, with experience supervising or leading staff. A Level 3 Diploma (NVQ) in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification is essential or willingness to walk toward it . A good understanding of person-centred care, safeguarding adults, CQC standards, and supporting vulnerable adults is required. An Enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.
