Here's the exciting bit… A day includes:
- Supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of in-house health clinic services, ensuring services are safe, evidence-based, and aligned with regulatory and professional standards. This includes contributing to both existing services and the introduction of new healthcare offerings across the business.
- Acting as the Yellow Fever administrative lead, ensuring compliance with national standards, maintaining centre registrations, coordinating audits, and supporting clinics to meet all regulatory requirements.
- Working collaboratively with the healthcare services, governance, and operations teams to support the design, delivery, and optimisation of clinic services, ensuring patient safety and service quality are maintained.
- Providing clinical input and support into service delivery models, risk management, and patient pathways to enable safe and effective services.
- Leading on the coordination and delivery of governance meetings relating to clinic services, ensuring key risks, incidents, and performance metrics are reviewed and escalated appropriately.
- Supporting the implementation and embedding of clinical governance frameworks, ensuring appropriate processes, controls, and training are in place.
- Monitoring service performance, incidents, and patient outcomes to inform improvements and enhance service quality and safety.
- Acting as a key clinical contact and subject matter support for medicines, prescribing, and clinic governance queries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and continuous improvement of clinic-based healthcare services, ensuring alignment with governance and regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare services team to support service development and implementation.
- Lead the development and review of Patient Group Directions (PGDs), ensuring they are evidence-based, compliant, and ready for appropriate authorisation.
- Assess, write, and authorise Patient Specific Directions (PSDs) in line with legal, regulatory, and professional frameworks
- Provide clinical advice and support decision-making across clinic services.
- Develop, review, and maintain clinical policies, procedures, and guidance documentation.
- Lead and facilitate clinic governance meetings, ensuring effective review of risks, incidents, and service performance.
- Contribute to clinical governance frameworks and assurance processes.
- Support oversight of clinic-related activities within the cost centre, contributing to efficient resource utilisation.
- Represent the organisation at relevant internal and external meetings, as required.
Safeguarding our Patients
- Ensure clinic services operate in line with regulatory, legal, and professional requirements, and national guidance.
- Support and embed effective clinical governance processes to maintain high standards of patient safety and care.
- Review incidents, complaints, and near misses, supporting investigation, learning, and risk mitigation.
- Ensure all PGDs, policies, and clinical procedures are evidence-based, up to date, and regularly reviewed.
- Support identification and management of clinical risks, ensuring appropriate escalation where required.
- Monitor service quality, patient outcomes, and feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Promote a culture of openness, safety, and learning, aligned with duty of candour principles.

- Support the development of the medicines and prescribing team, providing guidance and professional support.
- Promote a culture of continuous professional development and clinical excellence.
- Facilitate and contribute to training events, workshops, and education programmes.
- Identify learning needs through governance insights, ensuring targeted and effective training interventions.
- Support implementation of competency frameworks and assurance processes.
- Act as a clinical role model, supporting high standards of patient care and professional practice.

What you’ll need to succeed
- GPhC-registered pharmacist (essential) with commitment to maintaining professional standards.
- Independent Prescriber qualification (essential or working towards).
- Experience in medicines governance, prescribing, and clinical service delivery.
- Experience supporting the development and implementation of healthcare services.
- Experience in developing and reviewing Patient Group Directions (PGDs).
- Ability to provide sound clinical advice and support decision-making.
- Good understanding of regulatory and professional frameworks (GPhC, CQC, national guidance).
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to lead meetings and coordinate governance activities effectively.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Willingness to attend relevant professional events and training.
