Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plasterer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying plaster to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces, ensuring a high-quality finish that meets project specifications. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of residential and commercial projects, contributing to the realisation of durable and aesthetically pleasing structures. Applicants should have experience with hand tools, power tools, and masonry techniques, along with a strong understanding of safety procedures on site.
Responsibilities
- Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying necessary primers or bonding agents
- Mixing plaster to the correct consistency using appropriate tools
- Applying plaster smoothly and evenly to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using trowels and hawks
- Ensuring finishes meet specified standards for texture and appearance
- Repairing or patching existing plasterwork as required
- Assisting with related tasks such as bricklaying, carpentry, roofing, or welding when needed
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Adhering strictly to health and safety regulations at all times during work activities
Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as trowels, floats, and spatulas
- Experience with bricklaying and masonry techniques is advantageous
- Knowledge of power tools including mixers, drills, and saws
- Ability to perform basic carpentry tasks related to plastering projects
- Familiarity with roofing or welding is a plus but not essential
- Strong attention to detail with an eye for quality finishes
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent understanding of safety procedures relevant to construction sites
