Duty Manager – The Carpenters Arms, Bethnal Green, E2
We are looking for an experienced Duty Manager to join our small independent pub in Bethnal Green.
The Carpenters Arms reopened in April 2023 following an extensive five-month refurbishment. Since then, it has quickly become a favourite with both locals and visitors, and continues to grow busier week by week.
As a Duty Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the business, working closely with the Assistant Manager and General Manager to drive the pub forward. We're looking for someone who is proactive, friendly and approachable, with a genuine passion for quality, consistency and great hospitality. This role is ideal for someone with solid experience managing busy pub shifts who is looking to be part of a dynamic, independent and growing pub company.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be able to work calmly and efficiently under pressure during busy shifts.
- Be friendly, enthusiastic and proactive, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Have experience cashing up, closing a pub, and confidently handling all responsibilities associated with being a keyholder.
- Have an in-depth understanding of the independent drinks industry, including modern craft beer, natural and organic wines, and spirits.
- Have demonstrable experience of working both independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on shared values and achieving business objectives.
- Take pride in their work and have excellent attention to detail.
- Have a basic understanding of cellar management, cask ale, and stock control.
- Be able to commute comfortably to and from Bethnal Green (E2), including late-night finishes.
- Be eligible to work in the UK.

Please note: Candidates must have a minimum of one year's experience in a pub environment at Supervisor or Duty Manager level. Applications that do not meet this requirement will not be considered.
Pay: From £14.70 per hour
