Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Stable Hand/Instructor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily care and management of our horses and other animals, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being. Additionally, you will provide instruction to riders of various skill levels, fostering a positive and educational environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine animal care expertise with teaching skills. The ideal candidate is passionate about equine activities, possesses mechanical aptitude, and enjoys working outdoors in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Provide daily care for horses including feeding, grooming, watering, and cleaning stalls
- Monitor animal health and report any signs of illness or injury promptly
- Assist with riding lessons by instructing clients on proper riding techniques and safety procedures
- Maintaining yard and environment
- Perform routine maintenance when asked such as cleaning out winter areas, help with fence repairs
- Handle heavy lifting tasks such as moving feed bags, equipment, or animals safely and efficiently
- Support general farm maintenance tasks
- Instructing children on and around horses of ages from 5-15yrs old
Qualifications
- Prior experience with animal care, particularly horses or similar livestock
- Knowledge of horticulture practices, and basic farm maintenance techniques
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Excellent communication skills to instruct riders safely and effectively
