Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Salary: Up to £45,000
Location: Hertfordshire
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm – some flexibility
Site: Static – Higher Education
Holiday: 25 days + Bank Holidays
We are recruiting for 2 Mechanical Maintenance Engineers to join a leading FM company on a Higher Education contract in Hertfordshire.
You’ll be joining an established on-site team of 5 Engineers plus a Supervisor, carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across a large commercial estate.
The Role:
- Carrying out PPMs and reactive mechanical maintenance
- Maintenance and fault finding on mechanical plant and equipment
- Working on AHUs, FCUs, pumps, motors, valves and associated plant
- Plant room checks and general plant room maintenance
- Basic HVAC maintenance and fault finding
- Minor plumbing repairs including leaks, taps, toilets and pipework
- Checking temperatures, pressures and general system operation
- Identifying faults and replacing mechanical components where required
- Liaising with the wider engineering team and specialist subcontractors
- Ensuring all works are completed safely and accurately
What We're Looking For:
- Previous Mechanical Maintenance / Building Services experience
- Strong understanding of mechanical plant and HVAC systems
- Mechanical or plumbing qualification preferred
- Experience within commercial, education, healthcare or similar large estates would be beneficial
- Comfortable carrying out minor plumbing alongside mechanical maintenance
