Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team within a reputable care home. Duties
- Supervise and support junior care staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care in accordance with care plans
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, mobility, and nutrition
- Develop, review, and implement personalised care plans tailored to individual needs
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, adhering to legal and organisational standards
- Foster positive relationships with residents, their families, and multidisciplinary teams through effective communication
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times, including risk assessments and incident reporting
- Support residents’ emotional wellbeing by engaging in meaningful activities and companionship
- Assist with medication management as per training and organisational policies
- Lead by example in promoting dignity, respect, and independence among residents
Experience
- Proven experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior or elderly care
- Supervising or leadership experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of care plans, safeguarding procedures, and relevant health & safety regulations
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Competent IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for supporting residents’ outings or appointments
