We have a very rare and exciting opportunity for an Inclusion and Intervention Specialist to join our pastoral team. This is a rewarding opportunity for a passionate, resilient, and student-centred professional who believes that every young person can succeed with the right support, guidance, and challenge. You will play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, build positive relationships, and achieve success both academically and personally.
At the heart of this role is the leadership and day-to-day management of our Direction Room, a specialist behaviour and inclusion provision designed to support students in reflecting on their choices, rebuilding relationships, and successfully re-engaging with learning.
Our Direction Room is far more than a traditional behaviour provision. It provides a structured, calm, and supportive environment where students receive mentoring, restorative support, and personalised interventions that help them develop self-regulation, resilience, and positive behaviours for learning. Working closely with senior leaders, pastoral teams, families, and external agencies, you will deliver targeted interventions that empower students to thrive and reach their full potential.
We are looking for applicants who ideally have experience of working with students with behavioural, emotional or pastoral needs and is passionate about supporting young people to succeed. You will have excellent ICT, oral and written communication skills. You will be highly organised, flexible, conscientious and have a ‘can do’ approach to work. You will be able to build strong and positive relationships quickly, remain calm, consistent and resilient in challenging situations and able to work effectively as part of a team and on your own initiative.
In Ofsted inspections in 2016 and 2021, the College was judged ‘Outstanding’ in every area of the Inspection Framework. Under the current framework, where an overall ‘Outstanding’ grade is no longer awarded, we are immensely proud that our March 2026 inspection identified areas of exceptional practice, further strengthening our reputation for excellence. We remain fully committed to continually raising academic standards and attainment through a broad, ambitious and inclusive curriculum.
