Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces, ensuring they are safe, functional, and visually appealing. Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, pruning, planting, and weeding to uphold the aesthetic quality of outdoor areas
- Operate and maintain mechanical equipment such as excavators, power tools, and irrigation systems with safety and efficiency
- Use hand tools for planting, trimming, digging, and other gardening activities
- Conduct routine inspections of grounds to identify areas needing repair or improvement
- Maintain equipment through regular servicing and cleaning to ensure optimal performance
- Implement horticultural practices to promote healthy growth of plants and lawns
- Support the team in maintaining safety standards across all grounds activities
Qualifications
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance or groundskeeping roles
- Mechanical knowledge related to operating and maintaining equipment such as excavators and power tools
- Familiarity with gardening techniques, and horticultural principles
- Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively
- Knowledge of maintenance work is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Physical fitness to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Previous experience working on gardening projects is desirable
