About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organised individual to join our Technical Team. This role is central to maintaining our quality, safety, and compliance standards across the bakery.
Based ion the 'shop floor' area of our bakery and working alongside our Packing and Production teams, whilst reporting directly to our Technical Team, you will work closely with the Technical Manager, supporting daily technical tasks and helping ensure our products meet customer, legal, and BRCGS requirements.
Salary: £32,000 to £34,000 dependent on experience
Shift Pattern: 3 days on, 3 off. 12 hours per shift (7am to 7pm)
Key Responsibilities
- Checking, collating, and filing bakery quality inspection records
- Issuing non‑conformances and closing corrective actions
- Completing finished product traceability and mass balance exercises
- Carrying out weekly and monthly glass and hard plastic audits
- Arranging samples for micro and nutritional analysis
- Conducting GMP audits
- Supporting BRCGS and customer audits
- Checking packaging and deliveries against approved samples
- Requesting and filing supplier certificates
- Calibrating monitoring equipment
- Conducting personnel and environmental swabbing
- Running customer taste panels and quality checks
- Logging, investigating, and responding to customer complaints
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Experience in a technical, quality, or compliance role within food manufacturing
- Knowledge of traceability and mass balance
- Understanding of BRCGS and retailer standards
- Confident using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Preferred
- Level 2 Food Safety
- HACCP knowledge
