Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Support Worker to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing essential support to patients under the supervision of nursing staff, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Duties
- Assist nursing staff with the implementation of care plans tailored to individual patient needs
- Support patients with daily activities such as mobility, personal hygiene, and feeding
- Monitor and record vital signs and patient observations accurately
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care
- Use IT systems to update patient records and document care provided
- Organise supplies and equipment necessary for patient care activities
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients during their stay or treatment
Requirements
- Previous experience or knowledge of nursing or healthcare support is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment
- Basic IT literacy for updating electronic health records and documentation
- Ability to follow detailed care plans accurately and reliably
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting patient well-being
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends if necessary
