Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Plumbing and Heating Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing and heating systems across a variety of residential properties. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and practical experience in plumbing, heating, and related trades. The position involves working both independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality service and ensure customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances.
- Fit and service heating systems such as boilers, radiators, and underfloor heating.
- Use hand tools, power tools, hot works and other specialised tools to complete tasks efficiently.
- Conduct inspections to diagnose faults in plumbing or heating systems and carry out necessary repairs or replacements.
- Perform basic carpentry tasks related to system installation or refurbishment projects.
- Handle heavy lifting of equipment or materials safely and effectively.
- Assist with system assembly and commissioning to ensure optimal operation.
- Maintain accurate records of work carried out and parts used.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times during operations.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining work carried out clearly to clients.
Qualifications
- Proven experience and qualifications (at least a level 2) in plumbing, heating installation, or maintenance roles.
- Knowledge of techniques relevant to pipework repairs or modifications.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
- Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Experience with carpentry tasks related to system fitting or refurbishment projects is desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of daily duties.
- Valid commercial driving licence is preferred for transportation between sites.
- Experience with assembly work related to plumbing or heating components is advantageous. This role requires a dedicated professional with practical skills in plumbing and heating systems who can deliver quality workmanship while prioritising safety standards at all times.
