Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to residents in care homes or individuals receiving home care, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Duties
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Support the development and implementation of personalised care plans in collaboration with the care team
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents or clients
- Monitor and report on residents’ health status and any changes in behaviour or condition
- Maintain accurate records of care provided using IT systems
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
- Drive or accompany residents on outings or appointments as required (driving skills are advantageous)
- Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all residents
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Basic IT skills for maintaining records and updating care plans
- Ability to work well within a team and demonstrate excellent communication skills
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support others’ wellbeing
- Ability to follow care plans accurately and adhere to health and safety protocols
