DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintenance & Repairs:
o Preventive maintenance on all site assets and systems to ensure optimal performance.
o Respond quickly to breakdowns, diagnosing the issue and repair in an efficient and timely manner.
o Ensure all machinery complies with current Health and Safety regulations.
2. Troubleshooting:
o Diagnose mechanical systems.
o Use tools, problem solving methodologies and diagnostic equipment to identify issues and determine necessary actions to restore functionality.
o Equipment Upgrades & Modifications:
o Recommend and implement upgrades to existing equipment to improve efficiency, safety, or energy consumption.
3. Technical Support:
o Provide technical support and advice to operators and other personnel on safe equipment use and maintenance.
4. Safety Compliance:
o Ensure all maintenance work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies.
o Perform risk assessments and implement safety measures for both routine and emergency maintenance tasks.
o Ensure all tools and equipment used are maintained to a high standard of safety.
5. Reporting & Documentation:
o Report on equipment performance, recommending improvements or replacements.
QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:
Qualifications:
- Education: Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Additional certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, PMP) are a plus.
- Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience in a maintenance or engineering role (specific industry experience preferred, e.g., manufacturing, utilities, etc.).
- Familiarity with equipment such as Lathes, Pillar Drills , Welding equipment etc.
- Hands-on experience with preventative maintenance and repair techniques.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong mechanical knowledge
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, power tools, and hand tools.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members, suppliers, and management.
Working Conditions:
· Full-time, 37.5 Hrs Per week – 07.00 – 15.00 daily
· Overtime occasional or situation based, no guarantee
· On-call availability for emergencies, once probation is complete
· Physical work involving bending, lifting, and moving heavy equipment.
· Work in industrial environments, which may involve exposure to machinery, chemicals, and high noise levels.

Training:
· To undertake any training as required in the interests of Health and Safety.
· To undertake any training Kernow Coatings deems that will further enhance and enable you to fulfil your role.

Pay: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
